After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes de América's zone, Gabriele Batistuta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Ranolfo came out of the goal and Gabriele Batistuta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Camilo Salvidor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Beltza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcos Ranolfo made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Gabriele Batistuta sent off a good shot on target. Camilo Salvidor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Concetto Trasatti in the 27th minute of the match. Saverio Iraitz made in the 29th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Korneliusz Miodek. The audience was convinced that Concetto Trasatti's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Camilo Salvidor was relentless in the 34th minute of the game.
