Shane Corrigan might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nebojša Jerić. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Shane Corrigan ran back to his position shaking his head. Pompiliu Bacalbașa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luc Van Hinnendael made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pompiliu Bacalbașa in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Crni Tigrovi's goal looked a bit too open when Xavies Muñagorri came free, but Nebojša Jerić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the game, Carl Van Kamp cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Nebojša Jerić was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Neno Gudelj had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. FC Bruges's Luc Van Hinnendael played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neno Gudelj in the 38th minute of play. Pompiliu Bacalbașa scored 1-1 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luc Van Hinnendael, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dino Glavota hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Crni Tigrovi's Nebojša Jerić got control of the ball when Mac Mon tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to FC Bruges getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Lasse Kroner hit a great ball. Nebojša Jerić stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mac Mon's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 55th minute Shane Corrigan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nebojša Jerić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ken Brogren in the 56th minute of play forced Crni Tigrovi's goalkeeper Nebojša Jerić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, Bernardo Urtzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pawel Harendarski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The FC Bruges fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Luc Van Hinnendael was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Neno Gudelj showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-2 in the 85 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xavies Muñagorri in the 96th minute of play forced Crni Tigrovi's goalkeeper Nebojša Jerić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Crni Tigrovi's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
