Mădălin Lipan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Andriy Lunin made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ercan Sabahaddin during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ercan Sabahaddin hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Saltuk Askeroğlu to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ödön Szily got free with Călin Ghioncu in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Alin Nichitelea came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Carpathians fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alin Nichitelea couldn't finish the play.
