The Manchester United FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. In the 44th minute, Alfred Laulaja hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 7-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Per-Oskar Nykvist was the one to do the kick off. Eero Uusipaavalniemi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Lars Grep tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 54 minutes, the score became 8-0 when Eero Uusipaavalniemi sped through Besiktas's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lars Grep. Lars Grep showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Taisto Pentsinen, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute.
