In the 2nd minute, Augusto Cordario made a precise shot to the right of Sören Malmberg. Club 23's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Club 23's zone, Augusto Cordario stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sören Malmberg came out of the goal and Augusto Cordario tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Teodosio Sergi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio Dracena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Velez Sarsfield's Augusto Cordario in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Club 23's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Club 23 getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Adrian Ştoia hit a great ball. The tension between the Velez Sarsfield and the Club 23 players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 18th minute, Augusto Cordario hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Club 23's Sören Malmberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Cordario in the 22nd minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Teodosio Sergi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cássio Dracena. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cássio Dracena in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teodosio Sergi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Augusto Cordario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sören Malmberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Cordario, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Sören Malmberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Cordario in the 35th minute of the match. Augusto Cordario's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sören Malmberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. 44 minutes into the game, Velez Sarsfield's Augusto Cordario nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sören Malmberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 48 minutes into the game, Augusto Cordario cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Sören Malmberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

In the 55th minute of the match Velez Sarsfield got a corner. Club 23's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ignacio Berenguer ran over to the corner to take the kick. Velez Sarsfield's Marcos Pacifico quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ferdinand Voicu, made in the 60th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Velez Sarsfield's Olliver Van Meirhaeghe got a free kick in the 61st minute. Sören Malmberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augusto Cordario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club 23's Petre Ciolofan was substituted for Emil Cioran. In the 69th minute Club 23 were awarded a corner. Adrian Ştoia went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Adrian Ştoia got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Teodosio Sergi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Velez Sarsfield getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Olliver Van Meirhaeghe hit a great ball. After 75 played minutes Velez Sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Olliver Van Meirhaeghe. Teodosio Sergi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Dracena in the 80th minute of the match. In the 83rd minute Bogdan Bogdanović shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodosio Sergi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teodosio Sergi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Robescu in the 86th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Velez Sarsfield's Augusto Cordario dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Sören Malmberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Cordario in the 92nd minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Velez Sarsfield left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Club 23.
