In the 10th minute, Anuhrada Sandhar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club 23 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Velez Sarsfield's Teodosio Sergi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bogdan Bogdanović in the 20th minute of play. The supporters of Velez Sarsfield booed when Club 23 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emil Cioran didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teodosio Sergi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bogdan Bogdanović in the 26th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Augusto Cordario notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Club 23's Sören Malmberg. Sören Malmberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Augusto Cordario managed to get in a good position for a shot. Velez Sarsfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Cordario was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sören Malmberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Velez Sarsfield made a substitution. Filomeno Montrell replaced Javier Pinola.
