The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 44th minute Pirmin Jäggi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jefferson Oliveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jefferson Oliveira was out of position in the 47 minute of play, and Tory Pryor capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tory Pryor really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pirmin Jäggi to make the kick off.
