Linköpings AIK's Jimmy Olsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 孟振邦 in the 19th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Adriano Aparecido in the 25th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Linköpings AIK's Jan-Erik Lundqvist. Julien Staffelbach blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pavel Romanescu having to make a save. With a little luck, FC Pegasas Siauliai's Pavel Romanescu got control of the ball when Julien Staffelbach tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Julien Staffelbach in the 64th minute of play forced FC Pegasas Siauliai's goalkeeper Pavel Romanescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Julien Staffelbach notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of FC Pegasas Siauliai's Pavel Romanescu. Linköpings AIK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julien Staffelbach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
