Óscar Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Maria Píriz, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute of the match Bazellatin F.C. got a corner. Sporting de Gijón's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Amadeu Bessa ran over to the corner to take the kick. Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panos Kontothodoros in the 35th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Bazellatin F.C.'s Kunga King got a free kick in the 41st minute. 44 minutes into the game, Bazellatin F.C.'s Kunga King nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kunga King to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Óscar Cordoba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kunga King. With a little luck, Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba got control of the ball when Kunga King tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Bazellatin F.C. booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saturnino Curcio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Rafael Maria Píriz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bazellatin F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Rafael Maria Píriz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The audience was convinced that Diego Maradona's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Niculae Ailenei was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Óscar Cordoba made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Kunga King sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 76 minutes, Kunga King managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bazellatin F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Kunga King was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bazellatin F.C.'s Demis Poulkos was substituted for Lambros Giotas. 80 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when Kunga King came free, but Óscar Cordoba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute, Rafael Maria Píriz made a precise shot to the right of Óscar Cordoba. Sporting de Gijón's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Sporting de Gijón made a substitution. Mario Zanabria replaced Venancio Emesto.
