Verwachting's defense didn't have a chance, in the 31st minute, when Dündar Ülkenur scored to the left of an out of position Herbert Hilhorst, making the score, 3-0. Los Tatangelos's Vacib Bartu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Twan Hesseling in the 35th minute of play. Jorge Figueiredo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Herbert Hilhorst made a huge save. Los Tatangelos's supporters rose to their feet, but Göktürk Bozlak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Herbert Hilhorst breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
