Ludomil Kajdasz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 25 played minutes Desportiva Paulo Afonso got a freekick which was hit by Åke Hellström. Antonin Dagorne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gernando Pernambucano in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ludomil Kajdasz saved Herblay from getting behind. After 38 minutes, Gernando Pernambucano made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Herblay's Ludomil Kajdasz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Dimitri Bougault recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rashad Bartlett hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Gernando Pernambucano made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Desportiva Paulo Afonso's goal looked a bit too open when Norbert Cadart came free, but Karl Martin Bell Burnell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Herblay made a substitution. Ben Girouard replaced Billy Magnin. The audience was convinced that Norbert Cadart's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karl Martin Bell Burnell was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Herblay's goalkeeper Ludomil Kajdasz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 66th minute Dimitri Bougault shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Martin Bell Burnell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norbert Cadart in the 68th minute of play forced Desportiva Paulo Afonso's goalkeeper Karl Martin Bell Burnell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eduard Iacobescu hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 73rdth minute Noureddine Gerbeau easily got through Desportiva Paulo Afonso's defense and fired away a shot, but Karl Martin Bell Burnell leaped left and performed a fabulous save. The excitement rose when Herblay's Noureddine Gerbeau after 73 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Desportiva Paulo Afonso's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 1-2. A collision led to Desportiva Paulo Afonso getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Gernando Pernambucano hit a great ball. 81 minutes into the match, Herblay's goalkeeper Ludomil Kajdasz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gernando Pernambucano. In the 82nd minute Léon Monnet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Martin Bell Burnell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Ludomil Kajdasz managed to avoid a goal in the 84thth minute, when Desportiva Paulo Afonso's Gernando Pernambucano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Herblay's Mustapha Monteillet was substituted for Norbert Cadart. The supporters of Herblay booed when Desportiva Paulo Afonso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduard Iacobescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute Léon Monnet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Martin Bell Burnell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute, Mustapha Monteillet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Karl Martin Bell Burnell was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
