The audience was convinced that Örjan Björkdahl's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Atay Türegün was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Örjan Björkdahl in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Atay Türegün saved MegaFenerbahce from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bennvar Caddick in the 11th minute of play forced MegaFenerbahce's goalkeeper Atay Türegün to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Atay Türegün showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Örjan Björkdahl in the 12th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Servando in the 13th minute of play forced PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's goalkeeper John Osomo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. John Osomo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kristian Markham in the 15th minute. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Bennvar Caddick put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Atay Türegün. After 20 played minutes MegaFenerbahce got a freekick which was hit by Ferhat Kaya. Gu Yi Yuan in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of John Osomo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 25th minute of the match MegaFenerbahce got a corner. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fabio Mancinelli ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Clarence Seedorf hit a great ball. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind MegaFenerbahce's goalkeeper Atay Türegün, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's Örjan Björkdahl got a free kick in the 30th minute. 36 minutes into the match, PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Bengt-Åke Fransson came free, but John Osomo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Atay Türegün was a little too slow when Örjan Björkdahl got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gu Yi Yuan in the 70th minute of play forced PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's goalkeeper John Osomo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's Bruno do Vale was substituted for Clarence Seedorf. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's Ademar Rodrigues was substituted for Bennvar Caddick. 82 minutes into the game, Örjan Björkdahl cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4.
