With an all-out effort, Paunero's Christian Kerville threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aristide Iureș, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Francesco Cilli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Christian Kerville made a huge save. In the 18th minute, Paunero's Aristide Iureș ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Christian Kerville. Christian Kerville yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 28th match minute, Paunero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaston Ferran to maneuver through the defense. Christian Kerville stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aristide Iureș's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. The audience was convinced that Aristide Iureș's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christian Kerville was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. The supporters of Paunero booed when Elderslie Magpies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rick Souness didn't get a good kick on the ball.
