The supporters of Águilas Poblanas booed when Yala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freddy Claude didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zeledon Curcio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabricio Frasco in the 8th minute of the match. Levi Lanen hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaud Konieczny in the 12th minute of play forced Águilas Poblanas's goalkeeper Alexandros Ismael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabricio Frasco took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zeledon Curcio. Zeledon Curcio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Zeledon Curcio came out of the goal and Kimmo Saastamoinen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Águilas Poblanas fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when Águilas Poblanas's Fabricio Frasco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Zeledon Curcio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabricio Frasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Virgilio Txindoki hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Kristopher Le Saux managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yala's supporters rose to their feet, but Kristopher Le Saux was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexandros Ismael breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabricio Frasco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Levi Lanen fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Águilas Poblanas's protests and gave Levi Lanen a yellow card for diving instead. Águilas Poblanas made a substitution. Amedeo Vitucci replaced Tao Cheng Han. Águilas Poblanas's Eusebio Beltran was substituted for Fabricio Frasco. In the 66th minute Eusebio Beltran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeledon Curcio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Eusebio Beltran could shoot a difficult shot in the 92nd minute, which Zeledon Curcio however easily saved by the left post. With a little luck, Yala's Zeledon Curcio got control of the ball when Eusebio Beltran tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddy Valentine in the 95th minute of play forced Águilas Poblanas's goalkeeper Alexandros Ismael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Águilas Poblanas's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
