Rivermania FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Victor Bazkoare in the 8th minute. After 10 played minutes Rivermania FC got a freekick which was hit by Rosendo Flor. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roland Björklund in the 15th minute of play forced Rivermania FC's goalkeeper Severino Hulberto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing National Team Cape-Verde would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
