The supporters of Limburg United booed when Grêmio FBPA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filiph Biörling didn't get a good kick on the ball. 9 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goal looked a bit too open when Douglas Debecker came free, but Jardel Sanches reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Limburg United getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Xander Van Aarschot hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the match, Limburg United's goalkeeper Julius Vanneste had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pipis Karapatakis. In the 19th minute, Pipis Karapatakis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 28th minute Bob Thielens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jardel Sanches saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Limburg United's goalkeeper Julius Vanneste, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julius Vanneste was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Pipis Karapatakis showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 31 minute of play. Pipis Karapatakis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julius Vanneste read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bob Thielens in the 36th minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Jardel Sanches to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 39th minute of play forced Limburg United's goalkeeper Julius Vanneste to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jardel Sanches made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bob Thielens in the 43rd minute of play. After 46 minutes of play, Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julius Vanneste was left in no man's land by his defense there! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pipis Karapatakis was the one to do the kick off. Filiph Biörling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julius Vanneste having to interfere. In the 53rd match minute, Limburg United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xander Van Aarschot to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pipis Karapatakis in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julius Vanneste prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 59 minutes into the match, Limburg United's goal looked a bit too open when Pipis Karapatakis came free, but Julius Vanneste reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pipis Karapatakis in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julius Vanneste prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julius Vanneste didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pipis Karapatakis went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. 71 minutes into the match, Limburg United's goal looked a bit too open when Pipis Karapatakis came free, but Julius Vanneste reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Limburg United's Julius Vanneste played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filiph Biörling in the 72nd minute of play. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by Limburg United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Julius Vanneste didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eriberto Berger went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. 80 minutes into the match, Limburg United's goal looked a bit too open when Eriberto Berger came free, but Julius Vanneste reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute, Eriberto Berger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julius Vanneste was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. Bob Thielens could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Jardel Sanches made a huge save. 90 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's Eriberto Berger sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julius Vanneste narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A nice corner shot did that Darío Pereyra got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julius Vanneste quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Eriberto Berger scored 8-0 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julius Vanneste, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Limburg United booed when Grêmio FBPA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diamantino Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Grêmio FBPA fans cheered their team off the field, for while Limburg United had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
