FC Buzău's Gheorghe Baldovin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save FC Buzău from getting a goal against them. Adrian Mutu took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gheorghe Baldovin. Gheorghe Baldovin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Edinson Cavani hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute Cătălin Arjoca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Panait Hațegan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Leonard Aanuţei notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s Panait Hațegan. Panait Hațegan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Tractorul Satulung -MM- defense, Cătălin Arjoca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Panait Hațegan. The Tractorul Satulung -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Panait Hațegan should have stopped the shot. After having played for 37 minutes, Edinson Cavani managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Buzău's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edinson Cavani was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Panait Hațegan came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by FC Buzău's Cătălin Arjoca. But to his dismay, Cătălin Arjoca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Panait Hațegan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vintilă Stoicea in the 46th minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Samuel Hall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 48 minutes into the match, Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Leonard Aanuţei came free, but Panait Hațegan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half FC Buzău were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The FC Buzău fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gheorghe Baldovin should have stopped the shot. 61 minutes into the match, Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Leonard Aanuţei came free, but Panait Hațegan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Panait Hațegan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augustin Cernat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s Panait Hațegan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Tractorul Satulung -MM- from getting a goal against them. When FC Buzău's Cătălin Arjoca in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cătălin Arjoca in the 80th minute of play forced Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s goalkeeper Panait Hațegan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marius Bunoaică during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Tractorul Satulung -MM- booed when FC Buzău was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marius Bunoaică didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marius Bunoaică got free with Panait Hațegan in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 87 minutes into the match, Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s goalkeeper Panait Hațegan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marius Bunoaică. Ştefan Trif's late challenge caught a Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ştefan Trif helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th match minute, FC Buzău was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ştefan Trif to maneuver through the defense. Gheorghe Baldovin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Mutu in the 90th minute of play. Mădălin Cangeopol scored 3-4 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gheorghe Baldovin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
