Téo Cordeiro was slow to take the kick. During this time América-SC F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerônimo Pimenta in the 14th minute of play forced MIT's goalkeeper Calistrat Madgearu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute, Tiberiu Caramarin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nestor Quirino was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind América-SC F.C.'s goalkeeper Nestor Quirino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 54 minutes into the match, MIT's goal looked a bit too open when Kobe Haaland came free, but Calistrat Madgearu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiberiu Caramarin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Quirino having to interfere. MIT's Mihăiţă Ilarie was substituted for Aurel Buzea. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicodim Orășan got free with Nestor Quirino in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When MIT's Nicodim Orășan in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. MIT's Bogdan Bucataru was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nestor Quirino in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched MIT eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
