The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the game, Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's Gernando Azevedo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sepp Mainville made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Gernando Azevedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sepp Mainville. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gernando Azevedo ran back to his position shaking his head. Albain Furst struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. João Carlos Lucas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zelg FC. The supporters of Los Andes FC - FSCMZ booed when Zelg FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frankl Nadel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sepp Mainville made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gernando Azevedo in the 14th minute of play. Gernando Azevedo took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sepp Mainville. Sepp Mainville dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 19 minutes into the match, Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's goalkeeper João Carlos Lucas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilles Clerc. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Zelg FC's goalkeeper Sepp Mainville, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gernando Azevedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sepp Mainville read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. When Gernando Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Los Andes FC - FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gernando Azevedo couldn't finish the play. Sepp Mainville showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gernando Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Sepp Mainville stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gernando Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Sepp Mainville made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gernando Azevedo in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Zelg FC's goalkeeper Sepp Mainville, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Los Andes FC - FSCMZ were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after Zelg FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arjen Robben took the corner. Sepp Mainville showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gernando Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gernando Azevedo to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Gustavo Scarpa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gustavo Scarpa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sepp Mainville having to interfere. João Carlos Lucas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Irwin Monney in the 61st minute of the match. João Carlos Lucas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gilles Clerc went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Jonas Herz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Carlos Lucas having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gernando Azevedo in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sepp Mainville saved Zelg FC from getting behind. 73 minutes into the match, Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's Gernando Azevedo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sepp Mainville narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustavo Scarpa got free with Sepp Mainville in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 78 minutes into the match, Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Herz came free, but João Carlos Lucas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gernando Azevedo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sepp Mainville having to make a save. Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's Gabriel Recife got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Los Andes FC - FSCMZ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Los Andes FC - FSCMZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
