Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Zoltán Varga kicked off to start the match. 6 minutes had been played when some careless play by MIT's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ignác Mayer was slow to take the kick. During this time Gyál United's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to Gyál United getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Január Csillag hit a great ball. 6 minutes in the game, Január Csillag got a free kick from a good position and fired away a shot. The shot didn't have enough spin and went out of bounds to the left of the goal. Gyula Grosics made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiberiu Caramarin in the 8th minute of play. MIT were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after Gyál United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mihăiţă Ilarie took the corner. Tiberiu Caramarin might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gyula Grosics. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tiberiu Caramarin ran back to his position shaking his head. Gyula Grosics made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiberiu Caramarin in the 10th minute of play. After 14 minutes, Tiberiu Caramarin made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Gyál United's Gyula Grosics tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Calistrat Madgearu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Walmir Breckenfeld in the 20th minute. Tiberiu Caramarin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gyula Grosics took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiberiu Caramarin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ignác Mayer hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Gyál United's Gyula Grosics played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorin Banu in the 27th minute of play. The corner led MIT's Mihăiţă Ilarie to fire away a dangerous shot which Gyula Grosics despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 30thth minute of the game Tiberiu Caramarin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gyál United's Gyula Grosics was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 33 minutes into the match, MIT's goal looked a bit too open when Walmir Breckenfeld came free, but Calistrat Madgearu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute, Tiberiu Caramarin made a precise shot to the right of Gyula Grosics. Gyál United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Tiberiu Caramarin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Gyula Grosics tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiberiu Caramarin succeeded in the game's 42nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3. In the 45th minute Tiberiu Caramarin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gyula Grosics saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute MIT were awarded a corner. Mihăiţă Ilarie went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led MIT's Mihăiţă Ilarie to fire away a dangerous shot which Gyula Grosics despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The Gyál United players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. MIT were winning 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tiberiu Caramarin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Tiberiu Caramarin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 51st of the match, Tiberiu Caramarin tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Gyula Grosics got in the way and made a wonderful save. In the 52nd minute, Január Csillag hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Calistrat Madgearu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmir Breckenfeld, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Gyál United's Walmir Breckenfeld in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye MIT's goalie prevented a goal. The Gyál United fans' excitement grew in the 55th match minute when Gyál United's Walmir Breckenfeld looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Tiberiu Caramarin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gyula Grosics read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Zoltán Varga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Calistrat Madgearu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. MIT's David Tunander was substituted for Dorin Banu. After some careless play in the Gyál United defense, Tiberiu Caramarin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gyula Grosics. The Gyál United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gyula Grosics should have stopped the shot. In the 74th minute, Nicodim Orășan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tiberiu Caramarin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 76thth minute tested the skills of Gyula Grosics when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gyula Grosics came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by MIT's Tiberiu Caramarin. But to his dismay, Tiberiu Caramarin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. A collision led to MIT getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Nicodim Orășan hit a great ball. After 84 minutes Gyál United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bogdan Bucataru who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Bogdan Bucataru almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Gyál United's Gyula Grosics did a great save. The supporters of MIT booed when Gyál United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sulev Aare didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 89 played minutes Gyál United got a freekick which was hit by Walmir Breckenfeld. A hard shot 90 in the game by Tiberiu Caramarin from a close distance when the talented Gyula Grosics managed to make a qualified save. Gyál United's players were relieved. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tiberiu Caramarin got free with Gyula Grosics in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as MIT's Tiberiu Caramarin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gyula Grosics. That made the score 1-7 after 95 minutes of play. The MIT players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
