KAFSONAS F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fanis Kapernekas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 11th match minute, RO Army V55 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vassilis Stergioudas to maneuver through the defense. Vassilis Stergioudas kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 15th minute Kosmas Kouroupetroglou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Helmuth Duckadam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 19 played minutes KAFSONAS F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Aris Koltsidas. In the 24th minute RO Army V55 were awarded a corner. Daniel Prodan went to the cornerflag to take it. RO Army V55's Daniel Prodan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Alkis Anastasiou in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 25th minute, Vlassis Labellis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerasimos Patsionidis in the 26th minute of play forced KAFSONAS F.C.'s goalkeeper Alkis Anastasiou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to RO Army V55 getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Fanis Kapernekas hit a great ball. With a little luck, RO Army V55's Helmuth Duckadam got control of the ball when Giorgos Sapakis tried to sneak it across the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Sokratis Symeonakis notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of KAFSONAS F.C.'s Alkis Anastasiou. After a rather tough play, KAFSONAS F.C.'s Kosmas Kouroupetroglou got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Iosif Pantelatos was shown his second yellow card after 45 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to RO Army V55 getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Iosif Pantelatos hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pavlos Pantelakis during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. RO Army V55:s Helmuth Duckadam showed great skill when he stopped Stathis Bozidis:s penalty. The KAFSONAS F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. RO Army V55 were winning 0-2.

After having played for 54 minutes, Vlassis Labellis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KAFSONAS F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Vlassis Labellis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Aris Koltsidas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kosmas Kouroupetroglou in the 59th minute of play forced RO Army V55's goalkeeper Helmuth Duckadam to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th match minute, RO Army V55 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pavlos Pantelakis to maneuver through the defense. RO Army V55's Helmuth Duckadam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kosmas Kouroupetroglou in the 72nd minute of play. When Stathis Bozidis came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the KAFSONAS F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stathis Bozidis couldn't finish the play. 90 minutes into the match, RO Army V55's goal looked a bit too open when Giorgos Sapakis came free, but Helmuth Duckadam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Helmuth Duckadam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giorgos Sapakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched RO Army V55 eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
