In the 4th match minute, Palloketut was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antti Furuholm to maneuver through the defense. Palloketut's defense didn't have a chance, in the 5th minute, when Arto Hytönen scored to the left of an out of position Jyrki Rajamäki, making the score, 1-0. Kultapossukerho were awarded a corner in the 11th minute after Palloketut's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kalevi Kiprusoff took the corner. The corner led Kultapossukerho's Kalevi Kiprusoff to fire away a dangerous shot which Jyrki Rajamäki despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Kultapossukerho's goal looked a bit too open when Jari Welling came free, but Sulo Lahtela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arto Hytönen got free with Jyrki Rajamäki in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 20 played minutes Palloketut got a freekick which was hit by Eevert Hati. When Arto Hytönen came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Kultapossukerho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arto Hytönen couldn't finish the play. 30 minutes into the match, Arto Hytönen notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Palloketut's Jyrki Rajamäki. Jyrki Rajamäki was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 32 minutes into the match, Palloketut's goalkeeper Jyrki Rajamäki had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arto Hytönen. Jyrki Rajamäki was a little too slow when Alfred Ruohonen got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 35th minute. The score was now 5-0. 39 minutes into the game, Jari Welling cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Sulo Lahtela was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Eevert Hati managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palloketut's supporters rose to their feet, but Eevert Hati was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sulo Lahtela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Palloketut booed when Kultapossukerho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Perttu Kamppunen didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jari Welling to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes Palloketut got a freekick which was hit by Eevert Hati. Jyrki Rajamäki didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pietari Jaakkola went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-1 was the resulting score. Palloketut's Eevert Hati got his second yellow card of the match in the 66th minute. The referee ordered Eevert Hati off the ground. In the 67th match minute, Palloketut was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eevert Hati to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Heino Lehtonen during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Heino Lehtonen hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Sulo Lahtela made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jari Welling in the 70th minute. Alpi Askolin hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Palloketut defense, Pietari Jaakkola kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jyrki Rajamäki. The Palloketut fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jyrki Rajamäki should have stopped the shot. In the 74th minute, Jonni Laaksonen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Yuri Vrieze fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kultapossukerho's protests and gave Yuri Vrieze a yellow card for diving instead. After 81 played minutes Kultapossukerho got a freekick which was hit by Yuri Vrieze. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonni Laaksonen during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 84 minutes into the game, one of Kultapossukerho:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Sulo Lahtela had in the 86thth minute some difficulties stopping Antti Furuholm's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After some careless play in the Kultapossukerho defense, Jari Welling kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sulo Lahtela. The Kultapossukerho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sulo Lahtela should have stopped the shot. Roni Kaitainen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sulo Lahtela having to interfere. When Jari Welling came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Palloketut fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jari Welling couldn't finish the play.
