When Elmar Assing fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rot-Weiss-Essen's protests and gave Elmar Assing a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of DJK Füchtel Vechta booed when Rot-Weiss-Essen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elmar Assing didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Jamal Gläsel could shoot a difficult shot in the 8th minute, which Uwe Ziege however easily saved by the left post. Joseph Lötters's shot from long distance in the 13th minute was not bad at all, but Rot-Weiss-Essen's Uwe Ziege knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. In the 17th match minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hjalmar Blumentritt to maneuver through the defense. Hjalmar Blumentritt kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. When Felix Agu came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the DJK Füchtel Vechta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Agu couldn't finish the play. Uwe Ziege was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Felix Agu. Uwe Ziege took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christoph Tiede, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Folke Vielmann in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Uwe Ziege saved Rot-Weiss-Essen from getting behind. DJK Füchtel Vechta's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Felix Agu in the 29th minute. Kai Hilljegerdes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Björn Mokros, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. A collision led to Rot-Weiss-Essen getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Maurizio Brink hit a great ball. Florian Hagen hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Kai Hilljegerdes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivo Claus in the 43rd minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ivo Claus was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, DJK Füchtel Vechta's goalkeeper Kai Hilljegerdes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sascha Andre Rennert. Uwe Ziege showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Folke Vielmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 56 minutes into the game, Björn Mokros recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kai Hilljegerdes. Björn Mokros showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Uwe Ziege played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jamal Gläsel in the 60th minute of play. Kai Hilljegerdes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Björn Mokros in the 61st minute. 66 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Folke Vielmann came free, but Uwe Ziege reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Uwe Ziege played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jamal Gläsel in the 68th minute of play. Jamal Gläsel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uwe Ziege having to interfere. Uwe Ziege showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Folke Vielmann in the 86th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Maurizio Brink got a free kick in the 87th minute. Jamal Gläsel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute.
