The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as de belletrekkers's George Van Impe slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nicolaas Van Hamme. That made the score 1-0 after 2 minutes of play. Gert Robijns received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Nicolaas Van Hamme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th match minute, KFC Paal-Tervant was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joost Rummens to maneuver through the defense. KFC Paal-Tervant's Nicolaas Van Hamme proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save KFC Paal-Tervant from getting a goal against them. 22 minutes into the match, KFC Paal-Tervant's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Armentier came free, but Nicolaas Van Hamme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes into the game, Gert Robijns was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. de belletrekkers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KFC Paal-Tervant the free kick. Kristiaan Van de Velde came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by KFC Paal-Tervant's Arsene Vermeulen. But to his dismay, Arsene Vermeulen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 34th minute, Arsene Vermeulen made a precise shot to the right of Kristiaan Van de Velde. de belletrekkers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. A collision led to de belletrekkers getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Theo Weba hit a great ball. In the 38th minute of the match Reinaud De Schutter sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kristiaan Van de Velde skillfully saved the ball. Kristiaan Van de Velde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arsene Vermeulen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of de belletrekkers booed when KFC Paal-Tervant was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tobias Geeraerts didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half KFC Paal-Tervant were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edgard Armentier to make the kick off. George Van Impe kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Jorne Verhofstadt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristiaan Van de Velde having to interfere. After a rather tough play, de belletrekkers's Kristiaan Dirickx got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Kristiaan Van de Velde made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Arsene Vermeulen sent off a good shot on target. If Edgard Armentier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jerry Verbeeck kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. KFC Paal-Tervant's Nicolaas Van Hamme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Armentier in the 58th minute of play. Kristiaan Van de Velde made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jorne Verhofstadt in the 62nd minute. 64 minutes into the game, Theo Weba was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. de belletrekkers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KFC Paal-Tervant the free kick. After 64 played minutes de belletrekkers got a freekick which was hit by Theo Weba. Kristiaan Dirickx hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. With a little luck, de belletrekkers's Kristiaan Van de Velde got control of the ball when Reinaud De Schutter tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the KFC Paal-Tervant defense, George Van Impe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nicolaas Van Hamme. The KFC Paal-Tervant fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nicolaas Van Hamme should have stopped the shot. 77 minutes into the match, KFC Paal-Tervant's goal looked a bit too open when George Van Impe came free, but Nicolaas Van Hamme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gert Robijns hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Kristiaan Van de Velde was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Reinaud De Schutter. If George Van Impe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. de belletrekkers were furious when Kristiaan Dirickx was red carded, 88 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. A collision led to de belletrekkers getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Kristiaan Dirickx hit a great ball. Viktor Gijselinkx missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 90 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Kristiaan Van de Velde right hand side. In the 94th minute, George Van Impe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute, KFC Paal-Tervant's Arsene Vermeulen ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kristiaan Van de Velde. Kristiaan Van de Velde yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-3. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
