After some careless play in the Brugge United defense, Michel Batistuta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aldo Candal. The Brugge United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aldo Candal should have stopped the shot. Aldo Candal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Michel Batistuta's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. Iker Carabajal made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Ryan Lanphant sent off a good shot on target. Dylan Robin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iker Carabajal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ryan Lanphant, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Brugge United's goalkeeper Aldo Candal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Purple Talents's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Christof Bernage in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute, Ryan Lanphant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the match, Purple Talents's goal looked a bit too open when Ryan Lanphant came free, but Iker Carabajal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Donato Azevedo scored 0-2 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aldo Candal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Diego Weets kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Iker Carabajal made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Jochen Diericx sent off a good shot on target. After 32 played minutes Brugge United got a freekick which was hit by Mark Wauters. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michel Batistuta in the 33rd minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Aldo Candal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aldo Candal came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Purple Talents's Michel Batistuta. But to his dismay, Michel Batistuta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 42nd match minute, Brugge United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mark Wauters to maneuver through the defense. In the 44th minute Dylan Robin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Candal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ryan Lanphant made a kick off. Dylan Robin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Aldo Candal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aldo Candal was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Michel Batistuta showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 70 minute of play. In the 74th minute Jochen Diericx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Carabajal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Purple Talents walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
