After a rather tough play, C. A. Independiente's Conrad Carrington got a free kick in the 6th minute. Willie Cabrera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Huston, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. When C. A. Willie Cabrera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdinand Bauer in the 20th minute of play. The Stowe City fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when Stowe City's Cameron Cardona looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guy Becerra in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Willie Cabrera saved Stowe City from getting behind. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After having played for 51 minutes, Guy Becerra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. A. Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guy Becerra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Edinho Bueno came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Stowe City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edinho Bueno couldn't finish the play.
