Jean-Marie Pfaff stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alex Raţiu's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Raţiu in the 41st minute of play forced American Airlines's goalkeeper Jean-Marie Pfaff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Arno Martirosyan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Khachatryan's supporters rose to their feet, but Arno Martirosyan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jean-Marie Pfaff breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Khachatryan made a substitution. Ricky Villegas replaced Nair Vartanyan. 61 minutes into the match, Khachatryan's Alex Raţiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jean-Marie Pfaff narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alex Raţiu in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jean-Marie Pfaff saved American Airlines from getting behind. With a little luck, Khachatryan's Serge Koryan got control of the ball when Kristofer Loyd tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 69 played minutes American Airlines got a freekick which was hit by Cosmo Kramer. After a rather tough play, American Airlines's Cosmo Kramer got a free kick in the 71st minute. Jean-Marie Pfaff took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Raţiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute of the match Khachatryan got a corner. American Airlines's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Arno Martirosyan ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of American Airlines's goalie and right to Ricky Villegas. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. American Airlines's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 82ndth minute of the game Houston Floyd who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Khachatryan's Serge Koryan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Houston Floyd put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Serge Koryan. The audience thought a goal was coming when Houston Floyd got free with Serge Koryan in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alex Raţiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th match minute, American Airlines was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pipo Kaká to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute of the match Arno Martirosyan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jean-Marie Pfaff showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Serge Koryan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristofer Loyd, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. American Airlines's Jean-Marie Pfaff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arno Martirosyan in the 92nd minute of play. Cosmo Kramer kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. George Costanza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serge Koryan having to interfere.
