When Hermínio Pinhal fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Suprs Academia's protests and gave Hermínio Pinhal a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Pinhote FC booed when Suprs Academia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermínio Pinhal didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Suprs Academia's José Neves got a free kick in the 4th minute. After a rather tough play, Pinhote FC's Valério Vidigal got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 10th minute Tobias Taveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higino Pessoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobias Taveira in the 12th minute of play forced Pinhote FC's goalkeeper Higino Pessoa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Márcio Antas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Henriques having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zezé Haaland in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Henriques saved Suprs Academia from getting behind. 23 minutes into the match, Suprs Academia's goal looked a bit too open when Zezé Haaland came free, but José Henriques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pinhote FC's Higino Pessoa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Pinhote FC from getting a goal against them. Márcio Antas's late challenge caught a Suprs Academia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Márcio Antas helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Suprs Academia booed when Pinhote FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pinhote FC's Higino Pessoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tobias Taveira in the 28th minute of play. After 33 minutes, Zezé Haaland mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pinhote FC and the Suprs Academia players grew even worse after the yellow card. José Henriques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Rijo in the 35th minute of play. A collision led to Pinhote FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Valério Vidigal hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zezé Haaland stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Suprs Academia's José Henriques got control of the ball when Zezé Haaland tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Zezé Haaland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Henriques made an important save on a dangerous shot by Márcio Antas in the 63rd minute. José Henriques was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Zezé Haaland showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 66 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Pinhote FC's Fabrício Quaresma got a free kick in the 69th minute. Zezé Haaland received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. José Henriques came out and tried to block the shot, but Zezé Haaland slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 77th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobias Taveira in the 83rd minute of play forced Pinhote FC's goalkeeper Higino Pessoa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristiano Bessa lost his temper 86 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 85th minute, one of Suprs Academia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Suprs Academia. Zezé Haaland took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Henriques. José Henriques dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Zezé Haaland got his second yellow card in the match during the 91st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Pinhote FC's Higino Pessoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Salah in the 93rd minute of play. A collision led to Pinhote FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Gualter Lencastre hit a great ball. The Pinhote FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pinhote FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
