Paulo Fagundes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelino Lopes in the 3rd minute of the match. After 5 played minutes Gremio Viana got a freekick which was hit by Armindo Marques. Adelino Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Paulo Fagundes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adelino Lopes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes into the match, Lima Team's goal looked a bit too open when Adelino Lopes came free, but Paulo Fagundes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adelino Lopes scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo Fagundes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Silvino Morais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Meireles in the 13th minute of play. The supporters of Gremio Viana booed when Lima Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Câmara didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Adelino Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adelino Lopes in the 17th minute of play forced Lima Team's goalkeeper Paulo Fagundes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Gremio Viana's Adelino Lopes in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lima Team's goalie prevented a goal. Leandro Meireles hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adelino Lopes in the 22nd minute of play forced Lima Team's goalkeeper Paulo Fagundes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Lima Team getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Salvador Trigueiro hit a great ball. Adelino Lopes struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Paulo Fagundes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gremio Viana. 31 minutes into the match, Adelino Lopes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Fagundes. Lima Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adelino Lopes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Adelino Lopes scored 0-3 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo Fagundes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 45 played minutes Lima Team got a freekick which was hit by Honorato Amaral. The Lima Team players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Gremio Viana were winning 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Honorato Amaral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Lima Team booed when Gremio Viana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Valido didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silvino Morais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Meireles in the 58th minute of play. Paulo Fagundes was out of position in the 61 minute of play, and Armindo Marques capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Armindo Marques really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Adelino Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Paulo Fagundes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silvino Morais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorato Amaral in the 68th minute of play. The referee gave Gremio Viana a penalty, 71 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Salvador Resende, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lima Team's Paulo Fagundes. 0-5. If Adelino Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Lima Team's Paulo Fagundes got control of the ball when Adelino Lopes tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match clock showed 83 minutes, the score became 0-6 when Adelino Lopes sped through Lima Team's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Paulo Fagundes. Armindo Marques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Paulo Fagundes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
