The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Juliano Magalhães ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Fagundes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Lúcio Sá charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lúcio Sá the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 9 minutes into the match, Lima Team's goal looked a bit too open when Adão Carvalheira came free, but Paulo Fagundes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Campus Douro Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Delfim Passos came free, but Américo Palha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo Fagundes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leal Brito's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. After having played for 13 minutes, Manuel França managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Campus Douro Academy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel França was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 16th minute Leandro Meireles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Américo Palha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel França in the 17th minute of play forced Lima Team's goalkeeper Paulo Fagundes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Manuel França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Américo Palha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Honorato Gameiro in the 35th minute. Leandro Meireles hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 38thth minute of the game Leal Brito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lima Team's Paulo Fagundes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Lima Team getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Honorato Gameiro hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute, Leal Brito ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Fagundes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2.

The wind increased when Leal Brito made the kick off in the second half. In a very dangerous position, a player in Campus Douro Academy fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 55th minute. Penalty! In the 57th minute there was a penalty for Lima Team. Leandro Meireles stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Américo Palha. 1-2. Paulo Fagundes made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Adão Carvalheira sent off a good shot on target. After 61 played minutes Lima Team got a freekick which was hit by Delfim Passos. Honorato Amaral scored 2-2 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Américo Palha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 72 played minutes Lima Team got a freekick which was hit by Honorato Amaral. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leal Brito got free with Paulo Fagundes in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 81 minutes into the game, Lima Team's Leandro Meireles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Américo Palha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Paulo Fagundes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juliano Magalhães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 96 played minutes Lima Team got a freekick which was hit by Honorato Gameiro. For all the effort they put into the match, the Campus Douro Academy players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Lima Team.
