In the 3rd minute Chu Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zarco Bandeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Monte Lobato stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Noel Tinoco's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. Monte Lobato came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by MZ Fénix's Noel Tinoco. But to his dismay, Noel Tinoco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After some careless play in the MZ Fénix defense, Chu Tasso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zarco Bandeira. The MZ Fénix fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zarco Bandeira should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vicente Domingues during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vicente Domingues kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. A collision led to MZ Fénix getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Rui Rebelo hit a great ball. MZ Fénix's Rubim Jesus got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of MZ Fénix booed when Tasso FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Antunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 28 minutes, Noel Tinoco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MZ Fénix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Noel Tinoco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Tasso FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Anton Ekblom hit a great ball. When Noel Tinoco came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the MZ Fénix fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Noel Tinoco couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Tasso FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Chu Tasso hit a great ball. Chu Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Chu Tasso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Zarco Bandeira made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noel Tinoco in the 40th minute of play forced Tasso FC's goalkeeper Monte Lobato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zarco Bandeira made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Chu Tasso sent off a good shot on target. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chu Tasso was the one to do the kick off. MZ Fénix's Zarco Bandeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severiano Torcato in the 51st minute of play. Diego Antunes kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. If Noel Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 58th minute, Wilson Pestana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chu Tasso struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Zarco Bandeira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tasso FC. After 66 played minutes MZ Fénix got a freekick which was hit by Wilson Pestana. In the 69th minute of the game Rui Rebelo made a throw-in which Noel Tinoco played forward. Tasso FC's David Gilmour was substituted for Pinto Valer. Tasso FC's Richard Dawkins was substituted for Chu Tasso. In the 79th minute, Wilson Pestana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zarco Bandeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severiano Torcato, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Zarco Bandeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Dawkins in the 89th minute of the match. In the 91st minute of the match, Noel Tinoco tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Monte Lobato saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, MZ Fénix's Noel Castilho got a free kick in the 92nd minute. The audience was convinced that Richard Dawkins's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zarco Bandeira was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. After 98 minutes MZ Fénix's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Machado Assis who took care of the corner kick. The Tasso FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching MZ Fénix's performance. The match ended with a win for MZ Fénix.
