If Zeledon Locaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 5 minutes into the game, Zeledon Locaio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rafaela FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Azulgrana 81 the free kick. Zeledon Locaio hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute Anibal Bonifaco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Karmel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacinto Kemen's late challenge caught a Rafaela FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacinto Kemen helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th match minute, Azulgrana 81 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacinto Kemen to maneuver through the defense. Gustavo Amato could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Alvaro Karmel made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Kemen in the 22nd minute of play forced Rafaela FC's goalkeeper Prospero Calvino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Rafaela FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Romeo Raphael hit a great ball. Zeledon Locaio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Alvaro Karmel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alvaro Karmel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeledon Locaio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Rafaela FC booed when Azulgrana 81 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerardo Omero didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute, Rafaela FC's Zeledon Locaio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Alvaro Karmel was out of position in the 44 minute of play, and Zeledon Locaio capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Zeledon Locaio really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zeledon Locaio got free with Alvaro Karmel in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

After some careless play in the Azulgrana 81 defense, Zeledon Locaio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alvaro Karmel. The Azulgrana 81 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alvaro Karmel should have stopped the shot. Azulgrana 81's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eriberto Navarro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. In the 81st minute, Gustavo Amato left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rafaela FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. Gustavo Amato recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eriberto Navarro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Leonides Vito came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Rafaela FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonides Vito couldn't finish the play.
