In the 13th minute, Blas-Armando Giunta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Celedonio Kinsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celedonio Kinsen in the 19th minute of play forced ATLETICO TOSODELMA's goalkeeper Jesus Cisco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the game, Eustacio Oxarra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ATLETICO TOSODELMA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting de Gijón the free kick. In the 20th match minute, ATLETICO TOSODELMA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eustacio Oxarra to maneuver through the defense. Jesus Cisco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celedonio Kinsen in the 34th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Desiderio Frederik had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gaspar Iratzeder. A collision led to ATLETICO TOSODELMA getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Nicolas Haritzeder hit a great ball. Celedonio Kinsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Jesus Cisco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jesus Cisco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blas-Armando Giunta in the 47th minute of play. After 49 minutes ATLETICO TOSODELMA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Blas-Armando Giunta who took care of the corner kick. The ATLETICO TOSODELMA players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sporting de Gijón were winning 0-1.

Blas-Armando Giunta came free with the goalkeeper in the 84th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jesus Cisco could save by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Blas-Armando Giunta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting de Gijón's supporters rose to their feet, but Blas-Armando Giunta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jesus Cisco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With an all-out effort, Sporting de Gijón's Jesus Cisco threw himself towards the right post 87 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Blas-Armando Giunta, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
