The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Alvaro Ignatius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ladislao Jaunzuria blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos Germano having to make a save. Club Atlético Atlanta's Carlos Germano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicanor Fero in the 8th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Arsenio Maldonado notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Club Atlético Atlanta's Carlos Germano. Carlos Germano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Atlanta's Pedro Rojelio got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 14th minute, Nicanor Fero ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlos Germano was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 24th minute Arsenio Maldonado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Germano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mauricio Maura took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilfredo Gaxan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 27 played minutes Club Atlético Atlanta got a freekick which was hit by Paulino Frechoso. Arsenio Maldonado took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Germano. Carlos Germano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. 40 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Firmo came free, but Carlos Germano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Firmo in the 41st minute of play forced Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Carlos Germano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilfredo Gaxan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauricio Maura having to interfere. Carlos Germano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Firmo in the 45th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.
The wind increased when Arsenio Maldonado made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Arsenio Maldonado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Germano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Germano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Firmo in the 52nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Atlanta's Joaquin Fonso got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 57th minute Arsenio Maldonado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Germano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eustaquio Gerazan helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Atlanta's Eustaquio Gerazan got a free kick in the 77th minute. Carlos Germano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arsenio Maldonado in the 78th minute of the match. Benjamin Firmo hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute, Club Atlético Atlanta's Pedro Rojelio seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Pedro Rojelio the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Club Atlético Atlanta protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Pedro Rojelio had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Ladislao Jaunzuria who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 88thth minute tested the skills of Carlos Germano when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 90 minutes into the game, Ladislao Jaunzuria cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Carlos Germano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 94 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Carlos Germano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ladislao Jaunzuria. When the match was over ZORZAL01 could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Club Atlético Atlanta throughout the match.
