Ruperto Odol kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Sergio Romeri came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Sportivo Italiano's Jesus Frichoso. But to his dismay, Jesus Frichoso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Sergio Romeri made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Jesus Frichoso sent off a good shot on target. Ruperto Odol hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Sergio Romeri acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 16th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Elvio Machado. 18 minutes into the match, Bahía é Carnaval's goalkeeper Sergio Romeri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jesus Frichoso. After a rather tough play, Club Sportivo Italiano's Sixto Roland got a free kick in the 18th minute. The supporters of Club Sportivo Italiano booed when Bahía é Carnaval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruperto Odol didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 24 played minutes Club Sportivo Italiano got a freekick which was hit by Sixto Roland. The crowd rose to their feet as Justo Romo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sergio Romeri. That made the score 2-0 in the 29 minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Club Sportivo Italiano's goal looked a bit too open when Melchor Nayely came free, but Rafael Martino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Justo Romo got free with Sergio Romeri in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 42 minutes into the match, Club Sportivo Italiano's goal looked a bit too open when Alonzo Delfino came free, but Rafael Martino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute Diego Hernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Martino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Justo Romo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th match minute, Bahía é Carnaval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciriaco Paez to maneuver through the defense. After 64 played minutes Bahía é Carnaval got a freekick which was hit by Ciriaco Paez. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justo Romo in the 69th minute of play forced Bahía é Carnaval's goalkeeper Sergio Romeri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Diego Hernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bahía é Carnaval's supporters rose to their feet, but Diego Hernandez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafael Martino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 94th minute, Ruperto Odol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Bahía é Carnaval's zone, Elvio Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sergio Romeri came out of the goal and Elvio Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
