The audience was convinced that Dante Txeru's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diego Melendez was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. After 13 played minutes Defensores de Mar de Ajó got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Domeka. Benedicto Iago made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodrigo Calvet in the 17th minute. Salvador Benitez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Diego Melendez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diego Melendez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salvador Benitez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diego Melendez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Montez in the 25th minute of play. After having played for 27 minutes, Primitivo Artaldo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Defensores de Mar de Ajó's supporters crossed their fingers, but Primitivo Artaldo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 28 minutes into the match, Dante Txeru had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diego Melendez. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dante Txeru in the 39th minute of play forced Santos de Buenos Aires FC's goalkeeper Diego Melendez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diego Melendez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Salvador Benitez, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Salvador Benitez scored 0-4 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Diego Melendez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Diego Melendez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salvador Benitez in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Lázaro Suárez made the kick off in the second half. Santos de Buenos Aires FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when Salvador Benitez scored to the left of an out of position Diego Melendez, making the score, 0-5. Diego Melendez was out of position in the 61 minute of play, and Salvador Benitez capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Salvador Benitez really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. Lázaro Suárez hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Salvador Benitez showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. In the 94th minute, Cipriano Montez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Diego Melendez was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9.
