Florentino Paul started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marco Ostargi during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, GUSESI's Marco Ostargi got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Santos Kiliz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugenio Beturian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Tiburcio Cuartio fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GUSESI's protests and gave Tiburcio Cuartio a yellow card for diving instead. Santos de Buenos Aires FC's Diego Melendez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Santos de Buenos Aires FC from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marco Ostargi got free with Diego Melendez in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 14th minute, Rodrigo Calvet left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santos de Buenos Aires FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 19th minute, Florentino Paul reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Diego Melendez. The goal made the score 2-1. Lázaro Suárez took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Santos Kiliz. Santos Kiliz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Santos Kiliz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Octavio Romero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florentino Paul in the 38th minute of play forced Santos de Buenos Aires FC's goalkeeper Diego Melendez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Lázaro Suárez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santos de Buenos Aires FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GUSESI the free kick. After a rather tough play, Santos de Buenos Aires FC's Lázaro Suárez got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Lázaro Suárez was shown his second yellow card after 45 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Santos de Buenos Aires FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Lázaro Suárez hit a great ball. Diego Melendez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paco Gento in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Maximo Rufio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diego Melendez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florentino Paul in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugenio Beturian in the 71st minute of play forced GUSESI's goalkeeper Santos Kiliz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 75 minutes into the game, Maximo Rufio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santos de Buenos Aires FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GUSESI the free kick. 78 minutes into the match, GUSESI's goal looked a bit too open when Octavio Romero came free, but Santos Kiliz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gonzalo Toribio hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in GUSESI's zone, Octavio Romero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santos Kiliz came out of the goal and Octavio Romero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Rodrigo Calvet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santos de Buenos Aires FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodrigo Calvet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santos Kiliz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rodrigo Calvet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santos Kiliz having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in GUSESI's zone, Maximo Rufio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santos Kiliz came out of the goal and Maximo Rufio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
