If Norberto Valentine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emilio Ruy hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Yala's Honorato Ihintza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norberto Valentine in the 12th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silverio Semeno in the 13th minute of play forced Yala's goalkeeper Honorato Ihintza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute, Emilio Ruy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Teo Gau came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Yala fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teo Gau couldn't finish the play. When Conrado Gartxot fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paunero's protests and gave Conrado Gartxot a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Yala booed when Paunero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Gartxot didn't get a good kick on the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Yala's goal looked a bit too open when Alonzo Gervaso came free, but Honorato Ihintza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the last second Modesto Theodore throw himself and got hold of the ball when Omar Montes in the 30thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. 32 minutes into the match, Paunero's goalkeeper Modesto Theodore had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Niki Bundev. After 34 minutes, Zeledon Oro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yala and the Paunero players grew even worse after the yellow card. Honorato Ihintza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silverio Semeno, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Alonzo Gervaso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Norberto Erramu hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Silverio Semeno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorato Ihintza having to interfere. Yala's Honorato Ihintza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Yala from getting a goal against them. Paunero played a much better game than Yala and deserved their victory. The Yala players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
