Floriana Celtics's Ian Manchè played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aivis Bukevics in the 5th minute of play. When Black horses's Aivis Bukevics in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Floriana Celtics's goalie prevented a goal. In the 8th minute Black horses were awarded a corner. Muntis Neimanis went to the cornerflag to take it. If Brian Urpani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Black horses booed when Floriana Celtics was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Laudi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ian Manchè made an important save on a dangerous shot by Henrihs Rudgalvis in the 19th minute. In the 21st minute Black horses were awarded a corner. Muntis Neimanis went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Black horses's Muntis Neimanis to fire away a dangerous shot which Ian Manchè despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Black horses's goal looked a bit too open when Francesco Naudi came free, but Kārlis Blāķis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ian Manchè made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Aivis Bukevics sent off a good shot on target. Aivis Bukevics received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ian Manchè came out and tried to block the shot, but Aivis Bukevics slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 43rd minute. Aivis Bukevics sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brian Urpani to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Henrihs Rudgalvis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Floriana Celtics's Gregory Boffa got a free kick in the 51st minute. After 52 played minutes, Black horses's Muntis Neimanis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ian Manchè came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Black horses reached it. Ian Manchè took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aivis Bukevics, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Black horses's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Muntis Neimanis in the 56th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Floriana Celtics's zone, Henrihs Rudgalvis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ian Manchè came out of the goal and Henrihs Rudgalvis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aivis Bukevics in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ian Manchè prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 61st match minute, Black horses was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentīns Vitmanis to maneuver through the defense. Aivis Bukevics recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 68th minute, Auseklis Blitsons hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ian Manchè showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aivis Bukevics in the 71st minute of the match. In the 72nd match minute, Floriana Celtics was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrew Cuschieri to maneuver through the defense. After 77 played minutes Floriana Celtics got a freekick which was hit by Brian Urpani. In the 80th minute of the match, Brian Urpani tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kārlis Blāķis saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 83rd minute, Aivis Bukevics got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, Floriana Celtics's Kārlis Blāķis threw himself towards the right post 86 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Brian Urpani, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Aivis Bukevics sped through Floriana Celtics's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ian Manchè. After a rather tough play, Black horses's Valentīns Vitmanis got a free kick in the 92nd minute. After 93 played minutes Floriana Celtics got a freekick which was hit by Brian Urpani. Ian Manchè took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aivis Bukevics, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Black horses fans cheered their team off the field, for while Floriana Celtics had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
