An unexpectedly hard shot by Auseklis Blitsons in the 8th minute of play forced Philadelphia Union FC's goalkeeper Lev Grytsuk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 12 minutes, Myroslav Zanevskyi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Philadelphia Union FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Myroslav Zanevskyi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anatoliy Feschuk in the 18th minute of play forced Black horses's goalkeeper Kārlis Blāķis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Alvis Bāliņš hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute, Black horses's Aivis Bukevics dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Myroslav Zanevskyi put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Kārlis Blāķis. 39 minutes into the game, Black horses's Aivis Bukevics nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lev Grytsuk made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. When Orest Syvukha fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Philadelphia Union FC's protests and gave Orest Syvukha a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Philadelphia Union FC's Anatoliy Feschuk got a free kick in the 48th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anatoliy Feschuk was the one to do the kick off. After 59 played minutes Philadelphia Union FC got a freekick which was hit by Orest Syvukha. Philadelphia Union FC made a substitution. Eduard Tereschenko replaced Denys Karmalita. Philadelphia Union FC's Tykhon Zasyadjvovk was substituted for Myroslav Zanevskyi. Kārlis Blāķis was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Tykhon Zasyadjvovk capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tykhon Zasyadjvovk really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. In the 70th minute, Roman Ustymchuk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Auseklis Blitsons in the 76th minute of play forced Philadelphia Union FC's goalkeeper Lev Grytsuk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Indris Bindulis got a throw-in 83 minutes in the game and the ball was received by John John. Auseklis Blitsons blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lev Grytsuk having to make a save. Eduard Tereschenko kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Philadelphia Union FC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Black horses's much stronger midfield.
