With 27 minutes on the clock, Hiram Malik commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 26 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for G.R.! Armen Werthein went to the wrong direction when Keith Cassar was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After a rather tough play, G.R.'s Gineton Smoller got a free kick in the 35th minute. Dejan Cumbo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Janko Kaplan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stephan Hyzler kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. A collision led to Seraċini Għawdxin getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Michael Cassar Overend hit a great ball. Robert Seychell might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armen Werthein. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robert Seychell ran back to his position shaking his head.

G.R. made a substitution. Zahavi Drucker replaced Ben-Ami Amran. When Zahavi Drucker fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored G.R.'s protests and gave Zahavi Drucker a yellow card for diving instead. After 52 played minutes G.R. got a freekick which was hit by Zahavi Drucker. A collision led to G.R. getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Rubi Resnikovich hit a great ball. Louis Mamo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Armen Werthein stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robert Seychell's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. In the 73rdth minute of the game Louis Mamo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but G.R.'s Armen Werthein was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 79th minute, Robert Seychell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Armen Werthein was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Yoash Coppel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Dejan Cumbo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 87 minutes into the match, Robert Seychell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Armen Werthein. G.R.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Robert Seychell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. In the 90th minute, Stephan Hyzler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 91 minutes into the game, Lawrence Buttigieg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Seraċini Għawdxin's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave G.R. the free kick. In the 91st match minute, Seraċini Għawdxin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lawrence Buttigieg to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 92 minutes, Janko Kaplan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. G.R.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Janko Kaplan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Seraċini Għawdxin's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
