The supporters of OROTINENSE booed when CS La Libertad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Araya didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute, Gabriel Araya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the match, OROTINENSE's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Araya came free, but Jacinto Ostots reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorge Cordero struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Jacinto Ostots didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CS La Libertad. Sigvald Birkborg kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, CS La Libertad's goal looked a bit too open when Iordache Opincaru came free, but Omar Volio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brandon Aguilera during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 29th minute Sigvald Birkborg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Omar Volio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The CS La Libertad fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when CS La Libertad's Brandon Aguilera looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iordache Opincaru in the 41st minute of play forced CS La Libertad's goalkeeper Omar Volio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacinto Ostots made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Araya in the 47th minute of play.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gallo Pinto was the one to do the kick off. If Isidro Echeverria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute of the match CS La Libertad got a corner. OROTINENSE's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Inocencio Palma ran over to the corner to take the kick. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jacinto Ostots showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 81st minute Brandon Aguilera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto Ostots saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 82nd minute of the game. One of CS La Libertad:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of OROTINENSE:s goal. CS La Libertad:s Omar Volio showed great skill when he stopped Sigvald Birkborg:s penalty. The referee ignored CS La Libertad's protests and gave Gabriel Araya a yellow card for diving instead. In the 98th minute, Gabriel Araya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 99 minutes, Sigvald Birkborg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. OROTINENSE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sigvald Birkborg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
