In the 5th minute, Leonardo Trancoso made a precise shot to the right of Ismael Brito. Nova Venécia-ES's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Francisco de Godoi hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. José Pedro Cardoso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Fernandão Penha made a huge save. After 22 minutes of play, Castanheiro SC's Eliézer da Silveira made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ismael Brito was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ismael Brito came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Castanheiro SC's Leonardo Trancoso. But to his dismay, Leonardo Trancoso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Fernandão Penha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonas Silveira in the 34th minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Leonardo Trancoso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Ismael Brito was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Carlos Eduardo Sanches came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Nova Venécia-ES fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Eduardo Sanches couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Nova Venécia-ES defense, Eliézer da Silveira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ismael Brito. The Nova Venécia-ES fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ismael Brito should have stopped the shot.

A collision led to Nova Venécia-ES getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Jonas Silveira hit a great ball. The supporters of Castanheiro SC booed when Nova Venécia-ES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovânio Pitta didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute, Leonardo Trancoso made a precise shot to the right of Ismael Brito. Nova Venécia-ES's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. José Pedro Cardoso took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fernandão Penha. Fernandão Penha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-7. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francisco de Godoi during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Francisco de Godoi hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Fernandão Penha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Pedro Cardoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nova Venécia-ES's Ismael Brito proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Nova Venécia-ES from getting a goal against them. In the 81st minute Mário Aparecido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandão Penha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ismael Brito made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Eliézer da Silveira sent off a good shot on target. In the 84th match minute, Nova Venécia-ES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dário Secco to maneuver through the defense. The Castanheiro SC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
