But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anderson Valladares couldn't finish the play. Flying Dutch's Arthur Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anderson Valladares in the 30th minute of play. Victor de Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 39 minutes into the match, Vascogoianiense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Fonseca came free, but Bernardo Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonathan Fonseca was the one to do the kick off. In the 65th match minute, Vascogoianiense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldemar Ortiz to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute Zé Pedro Montenegro suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arthur Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldemar Ortiz in the 75th minute of play.
