In the 4th match minute, Grêmio FBPA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldemar Amaral to maneuver through the defense. Ernesto Bezerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 9 minutes into the game, Gugu Silva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Matías Pitta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Matías Pitta came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's Gugu Silva. But to his dismay, Gugu Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. 17 minutes into the match, Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's goalkeeper Xandinho Bomba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enrique Pires. After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio FBPA's zone, Gugu Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matías Pitta came out of the goal and Gugu Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matías Pitta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvério Barral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute Gugu Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matías Pitta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 23 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Grêmio FBPA! Gugu Silva scored 0-4 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Matías Pitta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 33 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goal looked a bit too open when Silvério Barral came free, but Matías Pitta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Grêmio FBPA defense, Silvério Barral kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Matías Pitta. The Grêmio FBPA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Matías Pitta should have stopped the shot. Renato Augusto made in the 39th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Silas Costa immediately put the ball in play. 40 minutes into the game, Heintje Taffarel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grêmio FBPA the free kick. In the 40th match minute, Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heintje Taffarel to maneuver through the defense. Matías Pitta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gugu Silva in the 42nd minute of play. Silvério Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Silvério Barral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Matías Pitta was relentless in the 47th minute of the game.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Silvério Barral was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's Jonathan Seco slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Matías Pitta. That made the score 0-6 after 54 minutes of play. Gugu Silva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Matías Pitta made a huge save. Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Gugu Silva 66 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-8. Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's Giuseppe da Costa was substituted for Silvério Barral. Grêmio FBPA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 71st minute, when Gugu Silva scored to the left of an out of position Matías Pitta, making the score, 0-9. 78 minutes into the match, Gugu Silva had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matías Pitta. Grêmio FBPA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gugu Silva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-10. In the 81st minute, Gugu Silva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-11. Matías Pitta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gugu Silva in the 85th minute of play. Grêmio FBPA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 88th minute, when Gugu Silva scored to the left of an out of position Matías Pitta, making the score, 0-12. Matías Pitta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gugu Silva in the 94th minute. Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
