The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 8 minutes, Baltazar Simões mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BOTAFOGO and the Jereba 4EVER players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to BOTAFOGO getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Baltazar Simões hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, BOTAFOGO's Baltazar Simões got a free kick in the 11th minute. 13 minutes into the match, BOTAFOGO's goal looked a bit too open when Márcio Cruz came free, but Murillo Cabral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jereba 4EVER were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after BOTAFOGO's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Reynaldo Mello took the corner. Jereba 4EVER's Reynaldo Mello was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Murillo Cabral in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Márcio Cruz in the 16th minute of play forced BOTAFOGO's goalkeeper Murillo Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute, Raúl Rocha made a precise shot to the right of Murillo Cabral. BOTAFOGO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Reynaldo Mello hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Romeu da Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Murillo Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raúl Rocha in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute Guga Cosme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dieguinho Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Raúl Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Jereba 4EVER fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raúl Rocha couldn't finish the play. A collision led to BOTAFOGO getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Inácio Neves hit a great ball. Raúl Rochas short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Murillo Cabral to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Márcio Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. BOTAFOGO's Murillo Cabral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save BOTAFOGO from getting a goal against them. After 43 played minutes Jereba 4EVER got a freekick which was hit by Romeu da Cunha. Murillo Cabral came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Jereba 4EVER's Raúl Rocha. But to his dismay, Raúl Rocha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raúl Rocha to strike the kick off in the second half. When BOTAFOGO's Fellipe Pimenta in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jereba 4EVER's goalie prevented a goal. If Raúl Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 63 minutes into the game, Gildo Pernambucano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BOTAFOGO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jereba 4EVER the free kick. The supporters of Jereba 4EVER booed when BOTAFOGO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gildo Pernambucano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute Márcio Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murillo Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Jereba 4EVER's Raúl Rocha in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye BOTAFOGO's goalie prevented a goal. Raúl Rocha might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Murillo Cabral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Raúl Rocha ran back to his position shaking his head. BOTAFOGO's Murillo Cabral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raúl Rocha in the 72nd minute of play. When Márcio Cruz came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Jereba 4EVER fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Márcio Cruz couldn't finish the play. In the 76th minute, Raúl Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Raúl Rocha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Murillo Cabral having to make a save. The supporters of BOTAFOGO booed when Jereba 4EVER was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romeu da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the game, Jereba 4EVER's Raúl Rocha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Murillo Cabral made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. After 97th play minutes Márcio Cruz shot 5-0, a short shot which went by Murillo Cabral and just under the crossbar into goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Jereba 4EVER fans cheered their team off the field, for while BOTAFOGO had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
