In the 5th minute, Jenipapo SC's Luan Vale ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind David Godoi. David Godoi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Luisão Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Flávio Netto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Kaká Lopes. Jenipapo SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Cristiano Marquez's late challenge caught a Internazionale-RS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristiano Marquez helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Jenipapo SC's Cristiano Marquez got a free kick in the 11th minute. Kaká Lopes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorginho Soares in the 11th minute of the match. David Godoi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonardo Magalhães in the 14th minute. An unexpected shot in the 24th minute by Cristiano Marquez got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After having played for 26 minutes, Leonardo Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jenipapo SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonardo Magalhães was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th match minute, Internazionale-RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dino de Toledo to maneuver through the defense. When Internazionale-RS's Jorginho Soares in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jenipapo SC's goalie prevented a goal. After 42 played minutes Internazionale-RS got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldinho de Amaral. Luan Vale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Leonardo Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jenipapo SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonardo Magalhães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Godoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jorginho Soares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorginho Soares during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Jenipapo SC booed when Internazionale-RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorginho Soares didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Ronaldinho de Amaral took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Kaká Lopes to make any attempt to save it. In the 67thth minute of the game Leonardo Magalhães who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Internazionale-RS's David Godoi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonardo Magalhães in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Godoi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luan Vale struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. David Godoi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jenipapo SC. Flávio Netto charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Flávio Netto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 73rd match minute, Internazionale-RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flávio Netto to maneuver through the defense. David Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luan Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute, Luís Eduardo Furlan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Internazionale-RS's Jorginho Soares slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kaká Lopes. That made the score 1-2 after 88 minutes of play. A collision led to Jenipapo SC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Cristiano Marquez hit a great ball. Internazionale-RS were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Jenipapo SC's much stronger midfield.
