In the 3rd minute, Dieguinho de Almeida ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lúcio Domingues was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Pedrão Paraense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Lúcio Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bebeto Campidelis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Fábio Leme in the 9th minute. Dedê Cerezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 12 minutes into the match, Divina Comédia FC's goalkeeper Bebeto Campidelis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Fábio Leme. Lúcio Domingues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedrão Paraense in the 13th minute of play. Dênis Matos's late challenge caught a Nova Iguaçu MZFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dênis Matos helped the player get up and apologised. After 14 played minutes Divina Comédia FC got a freekick which was hit by Dênis Matos. Cássio Aparecido received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bebeto Campidelis came out and tried to block the shot, but Cássio Aparecido slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 15th minute. In the 18th match minute, Divina Comédia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vito Arruda to maneuver through the defense. Bebeto Campidelis made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Luiz Fábio Leme sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elói Senna got free with Bebeto Campidelis in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lúcio Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dieguinho de Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute, Luiz Fábio Leme reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bebeto Campidelis. The goal made the score 2-1. Lúcio Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedê Cerezo, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedê Cerezo in the 28th minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Lúcio Domingues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lúcio Domingues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dedê Cerezo in the 30th minute of play. Divina Comédia FC were furious when Dênis Matos was red carded, 34 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Bebeto Campidelis successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 40th minute of the match Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a corner. Divina Comédia FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Elói Senna ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Elói Senna almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Divina Comédia FC's Bebeto Campidelis did a great save. After 44 played minutes Divina Comédia FC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Eduardo Martins. After a defensive mix-up in Divina Comédia FC's zone, Elói Senna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bebeto Campidelis came out of the goal and Elói Senna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 48 minutes into the match, Divina Comédia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio Aparecido came free, but Bebeto Campidelis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

If Dieguinho de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 54th match minute, Divina Comédia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedrão Paraense to maneuver through the defense. Cássio Aparecido recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bebeto Campidelis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Aparecido in the 57th minute of play. When Dedê Cerezo fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Divina Comédia FC's protests and gave Dedê Cerezo a yellow card for diving instead. 66 minutes into the match, Divina Comédia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio Aparecido came free, but Bebeto Campidelis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Nova Iguaçu MZFC booed when Divina Comédia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedrão Paraense didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Dedê Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Tomás Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Nova Iguaçu MZFC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Luiz Fábio Leme hit a great ball. In the 76th match minute, Divina Comédia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedê Cerezo to maneuver through the defense. After 77 minutes, Elói Senna mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nova Iguaçu MZFC and the Divina Comédia FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Divina Comédia FC booed when Nova Iguaçu MZFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elói Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luiz Fábio Leme scored 4-1 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bebeto Campidelis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 92nd match minute, Divina Comédia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Eduardo Martins to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute, Cássio Aparecido ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bebeto Campidelis was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Nova Iguaçu MZFC had won after a very even match.
