Benjamim Negri's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Wincent Jaworski skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 27 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goalkeeper Wincent Jaworski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Fábio Leme. Montevideo's attentive Natanael Fernandez managed to snatch the ball when Cássio Aparecido made a throw-in in the 29th minute of the game. If Dagoberto Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dagoberto Loyola might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lúcio Domingues. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dagoberto Loyola ran back to his position shaking his head. Wincent Jaworski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Aparecido in the 44th minute of the match.

Wincent Jaworski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Benjamim Negri went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Montevideo's Laerte Paraíba got his second yellow card of the match in the 85th minute. The referee ordered Laerte Paraíba off the ground. After a rather tough play, Montevideo's Laerte Paraíba got a free kick in the 86th minute. Cássio Aparecido scored 4-1 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wincent Jaworski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Montevideo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
