But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Fábio Leme couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dedê Cerezo to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Aparecido in the 51st minute of play forced Divina Comédia FC's goalkeeper Rogério Ceni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Fábio Leme got free with Rogério Ceni in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. José Paulo Negri's late challenge caught a Nova Iguaçu MZFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Paulo Negri helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Divina Comédia FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 62nd minute. Penalty! In the 67th minute, José Paulo Negri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Deivid Queirós got in the 68th minute a good position and tried a long shot which to a great surprise passed a very astonished Rogério Ceni. This was a shot which ended in a score of 0-2. Dudu Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. 90 minutes into the match, Tomás Marques dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rogério Ceni, 0-4. Cássio Aparecido recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Divina Comédia FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Nova Iguaçu MZFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
